At the Winding Wheel
We know a lot more about other types of schools in Victorian times than we do about boarding schools for girls. Why is this, and, since many existing girls schools date from the latter end of the century, how and where were girls being educated prior to that? Who taught them, what were they taught, and why were they boarding? Using information and illustrations from all parts of the county, this talk aims to answer all these questions.
