At the Winding Wheel
This talk features 5 trips to China from 1999 to 2013 to see one of the last places in the world to steam steam trains working round the clock doing the job they were built for. From carrying people to work to hauling heavy freight trains and working in the massive steel works. I was able to photograph them in dramatic setting from the Gobi Desert to snowy Inner Mongolian mountains at –30C. The show also features the people, harsh way of life, encounters with the secret police and some of the tourist sights such as the Great Wall of China.
