At the Winding Wheel Theatre
Starts 7.30pm.
Chesterfield Symphony Orchestra (CSO), under the musical direction of Jack Grime, presents an evening of music featuring much loved Classical Favourites.
The concert opens with Bishop Rock Overture by Doreen Carwithen. This premiered in Birmingham in 1952 and is part of CSO's theme to perform works by female composers this season.
The wonderfully lyrical and popular Violin Concerto No 1 by Bruch follows performed by the Sheffield born violinist Elizabeth (Lizzie) Dawson. CSO are delighted to be able to introduce Lizzie, who is currently studying violin at the Royal Northern College of Music, to our enthusiastic concert audience. To complete the evening, immerse yourselves and enjoy the powerful and emotional melodies of Symphony No. 2 in E minor by Rachmaninoff.
